The plan below will be posted as an A4 sized notice in each Ground Floor hallway in a position where it can be seen by incoming and outgoing residents. In addition each flat owner who sublets their flat will post such a notice internally and/or close to the front door of the flat and will draw residents’ attention to it.
It is important that any resident with conditions which might make their evacuation difficult or who might not hear alarm signals lets the Responsible Person know of this as soon as possible so that a personal plan can be developed. It is also the Responsibility of the Responsible Person (Haward Soper) to make reasonable efforts to identify residents with such conditions. It must be borne in mind that there are large areas of the building which simply cannot cater for some disabilities.
A notice detailing the evacuation plan will be installed in each Common area. Notices will be distributed to each owner who sublets their flat with a request to make sure that it is posted inside the flat or adjacent to the flat in a location where it will be easy to find and read.
If there is a fire in your flat or any other flat in De Montfort Court do not stay put. Leave the building as soon as possible.
When leaving, use the nearest available fire exit.
Do not investigate. Do not stop to pick anything up.
Do not return until you are advised that it is safe to return.
